As you might see, those signs are the message, that the builder of the house has been the member of some secret societies like Freemasons or "Illuminati" or "enlightened" as the translation from Latin would go.  At the picture of above, the text is the crown near the roof, what actually might mean, that the owner of the house is under royal protection.
