Those specific mushrooms have two kinds of shape. One is like the mushroom when this creature makes fruiting bodies and delivers the spores around. Another form of the creature is traveling like an amoeba and hunts other organisms like bugs.  Slime moulds seem like split, and they are tempting bugs to drink, and then the thread attacks to that bug.
