Kahdeksankulmaisten laavatappien arvoitus Irlannissa (Olivatko ne mahdollisesti jonkin muinaisen hyönteisen aikaansaannosta?)

Yllä olevassa kuvassa on omituisia kahdeksankulmaisia laavapatsaita Pohjois-Irlannissa, ja noiden basaltti-muodostumien muoto aiheuttaa tutkijoille päänvaivaa. Ne ovat muuten vastaavia laavatappeja kuin mitä löytyy esimerkiksi Islannista, mutta se mikä tekee niistä tapeista jotenkin ihmeellisen on niiden muoto. Muista kuin tällaisista merestä kohonneista sedimenteistä ei olla löydetty tällaista muotoa, kuin näistä tapeista, ja tuota muotoa on selitetty siten, että joskus kauan sitten tuon sedimenttikerroksen päälle on muodostunut kahdeksankulmaisia toistuvia kappaleita, jotka ovat aiheuttaneet noiden tappien muodostumisen, ja siksi tämä kyseinen muodostuma on niin erikoinen. Itse epäilen jonkinlaisen "meriampiaisen" eli ampiaisen esi-isän ehkä sitten olevan vastuussa tällaisen muodostuman syntymisestä. Syy miksi nimitän tätä oliota "meriampiaiseksi" johtuu sen tavasta rakentaa näitä munakennoja tai pesiä, ei niinkään siksi että edes olisin sitä nähnyt.

Sanalla "meriampiainen" tarkoitan siis eläintä, joka on muistuttanut elintavoiltaan nykyistä ampiaista, mutta ollut sitä huomattavasti kookkaampi. Eli kyseessä saattaisi olla jokin sirkka, joka kauan sitten valmisti tällaisia munakennoja, tai sitten kyseessä on jokin muu, ehkä yhdyskunnassa elänyt olento, joka on ehkä sitten jo kuollut sukupuuttoon. Kuten monesti ennenkin olen todennut, niin se, että joku eläin on ollut jonkin nykyään elävän eliön esi-isä, niin se ei tarkoita oikeastaan yhtään mitään. Eli tuolloin tällä "meriampiaisella" ei ehkä olisi mitään muuta tekemistä minkään nykyisen eliön kanssa, kuin se että sillä olisi tällainen tapa rakennella kennoja. Toisin sanoen jos tarkasti asiaa käsitellään, niin tämä "meriampiainen" ei ehkä edes olisi mitään sukua millekään nykyään elävälle lajille, tai se voisi olla jokin trilobiitti tai ammoniitti, joka teki näitä munakennoja.

Tuollaisia basalttimuodostumia ei ole kovin monessa paikassa maailmassa, ja tämä Irlannissa sijaitseva "Giant's causeway" ("Jättiläisen maantie") on esitelty monissa kirjoissa, jotka käsittelevät maailman ihmeitä. Myös USA:n Wyomingissa on vastaavia muodostumia. Syy siihen miten tällainen muodostuma muodostuu on siis erittäin hyvin selvillä, ja siihen tarvitaan vain sellainen "hattu", joka suojaa sen alla olevaa sedimenttiä eroosiolta, jolloin syntyy tällainen kahdeksankulmainen monumentti, mutta kuten olemme varmaan kaikki huomanneet, niin tällaiset muodostelmat kuitenkin kiihottavat ihmisten mielikuvitusta, ja näitä muodostumia on joskus pidetty esimerkiksi humanoidien lasitehtaina, eli he olisivat sitten valmistaneet esimerkiksi loisteputkia tällä paikalla, mutta itse kyllä uskon maanläheisempään selitykseen, eli jonkun muinaisen sirkan tai ammoniitin tehneen nuo kennot, jotka ovat sitten edesauttaneet näiden tappien muodostumista.
