MDPV:n aiheuttama aivosolujen tuho ei ole ainoa syy huumeiden käyttäjien invalidisoitumiseen

MDPV tai metamfetamiini, josta käytetään myös nimeä "Chrystal meth" on erittäin vaarallinen supervoimakas amfetamiini. Siitä tekee vaarallisen tuon aineen erittäin voimakas addiktiivisuus sekä se, että tuota synteettistä ainetta otetaan yleensä suhteellisesti enemmän kuin varsinaista amfetamiinia, eli samasta syystä fentanyyli on vaarallisempaa kuin heroiini. Se johtuu siitä, että nämä metamfetamiini sekä fentanyyli ovat paljon vahvempia kuin ne valmisteet, mitä niillä korvataan. Tuon takia niiden käyttäjiltä saattaa esimerkiksi sydän pysähtyä tai hengitys lamaantua paljon helpommin, kuin "luonnollisten huumeiden" käyttäjiltä.

Mutta samalla noiden aineiden käyttöön liittyy muitakin fysikaalisia ominaisuuksia, kuten se että varsinkin MDPV sisältää asetonia, joka liuottaa aivosolujen myoleenituppia erittäin tehokkaasti. Joten silloin voidaan puhua ikään kuin supervoimakkaasta liuottimesta, jota ruiskutetaan verisuoniin. Tuolloin nämä yhdisteet vaikuttavat samalla tavoin, kuin tinneri vaikuttaa hengitettäessä, mutta vaikutus on vain paljon voimakkaampaa. Huumeiden käyttäjien aivovauriot eivät kuitenkaan johdu ainoastaan tästä asiasta, vaan kun henkilö ottaa paljon vahvempaa huumetta, kuin mitä hän on ajatellut, niin silloin tietenkin saattavat jalat lähteä alta, ja hän lyö esimerkiksi päänsä maahan. Tai sitten ryhdytään kuvittelemaan, että maailmassa ei mitään pahaa voisi tapahtua, ja seuraavaksi lähdetään ylittämään katua katsomatta oikeaan tai vasempaan, jolloin auto saattaa tönäistä tuon henkilön nurin.

Samoin esimerkiksi pahoinpitely voi aiheuttaa vakavan aivovaurion tai kuoleman, jos potkut osuvat päähän tai joku alkaa hyppiä uhrin päällä. Eli huumeiden käyttäjillä on aggressiivisuutta sekä impulsiivista käytöstä, eivätkä he aina osaa hillitä itseään, jolloin aivan mitättömät erimielisyydet saattavat purkautua erittäin voimakkaana aggressio-kohtauksena ja äärimmäisen raakana pahoinpitelynä, vaikka yleensä noiden henkilöiden fyysinen kunto on niin huono, että heistä ei ole kovin suurta vaaraa muille kuin muille narkomaaneille, elleivät he sitten ole varustautuneet aseilla kuten veitsillä. Samoin nuo henkilöt voi kyllä kadulla erottaa melko pitkältä, joten tuollaisia ihmisiä on suhteellisen helppo kiertää, eikä heidän olemuksensa muutenkaan houkuttele käymään juttusille.

Eli tuo normaali päihdeongelmaisten kesken tapahtuva pahoinpitely yleensä tapahtuu silloin, kun joku istuu tai makaa maassa, jolloin uhrin päälle käydään joukolla potkimalla häntä tai hyppimällä hänen päällään. Mutta yleisin kuolinsyy taitaa kuitenkin olla kaatuminen liukkaalla kadulla, ja kun ne refleksit eivät toimi, niin silloin pää osuu helposti maahan. Mutta myös hankeen nukahtaminen saattaa aiheuttaa hypotermian, ja myös itsemurhat ovat suhteellisen yleisiä. Eli kun huumeita ei enää saa, niin seurauksena saattaa olla syvä masennus ja itsetuhoisia ajatuksia, mitkä johtavat sitten hyvin ikävään ratkaisuun. Samoin noiden huumeiden käyttäjät saattavat täytellä ruiskujaan esimerkiksi vessanpöntöistä sekä "jatkaa huumetta" esimerkiksi pesuaineilla tai muilla kemikaaleilla. Ne tietenkin sitten kuluttavat elimistöä todella paljon.
