Kuten kuvista näette, niin kävin tänään luonnonkauniilla Örön saarella, joka on entinen armeijan saari, joka on vasta vuodesta 2015 asti ollut avoinna yleisölle, Ja tuolla saarella on edelleen puolustusvoimien toimintoja, eli lähinnä erilaisia valvontatehtäviä suorittavia laitteita, joiden luokse ei kannata tietenkään mennä. Kuitenkin tuo saari on erittäin mielenkiintoinen, koska siellä tapaa erilaisia eliölajeja, joista osaa ei tapaa juuri mistään muualta Suomesta.

Kyseisen saaren luonto on todella upeaa sekä samalla hyvin haurasta, ja sitä hoidetaan laiduneläinten avulla. Näet puolustusvoimien aiheuttama kulutus on tehnyt siitä sopivan kasvupaikan sellaisille lajeille, jotka pitävät auringon paahtamista niityistä sekä hiekkarannoista. Koska tuo saareen kohdistuva kulutus on loppunut, niin tietenkin pitää huolehtia siitä, että Örö ei pääse metsittymään, mikä vaikuttaa noiden lajien elinympäristöön tuhoisasti,

Örössä näkee esimerkiksi merikauraa sekä muita upeita lajeja, joita ei nykyään juurikaan muualla näe, ja tuon takia sinne kannattaa lähteä käymään. Kuitenkin on syytä muistaa, että merikauran kaltaiset kasvit voivat viiltää haavan jalkaan, joten sen takia noiden kasvien kanssa kannattaa olla varovainen, ja tietenkin saaren metsää ovat muovanneet merituulet ja ihminen, mikä antaa sille omaleimaisen ulkoasun, mutta tietenkin saaressa on edelleen jäljellä muistoja rannikkotykistöstä. Erilaisissa museoissa voi tutustua valokuviin sekä muuhun materiaaliin, joka kertoo rannikkotykistöstä joskus 1940 tai -50-luvuilla, jolloin vielä oli käytössä pystykorva-kivääri. Eli kannattaa käydä katsomassa tuo kohde, jos haluaa viettää päivän saaressa, millä on merkittävä historia mm. kuuluisan Bengtskärin taistelun sekä Hangon takaisin valtauksen yhteydessä vuodelta 1941.
